this morning as i was eating my breakfast, i heard dripping. i thought it was the tap. then there was a more urgent rushing of water & i looked over into my living room (aka the other half of the small square room that is my living space) & there was dripping coming from the ceiling! i put some bowls underneath it, it wasn't coming down TOO heavily & it eased off within the next 10 minutes. the "water" was coming from a bubble in the paint up there. you know the kind. or at least, i do; i've lived in enough crumbling holes to recognize a liquid-paint bubble when i see it. anyway, all is well--there are a couple of much smaller bubbles that don't look like they'll burst & i told my super & everything. but the "water" is yellow & therefore is possibly not "water" at all. i think i will find out when i return to my apartment & am more objective in labelling the smell. i hope it's not what i think it might be. if it is, no matter how much i clean them, i don't think i'll ever look at those bowls in the same way again.

oh yeah, i don't think it's urine. it happened AGAIN last night as i was about to go to sleep! i stood on a chair for an hour catching all these drips, man. it's yellowish but smells like plaster, or rust. it's either like dirty bath water or just regular water that's yellow from the pipe i guess. or urine i suppose that has been overwhelmed by pipe smell, that's possible. anyway, it has to stop! luckily i've been home both times, but what if it leaked on something electronic! BAD NEWS!
